26 "But to the king of Judah who sent you to consult the Lord, give this response: Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: As for the words you have heard,

26 As for the king himself, this is what I, the LORD God of Israel, say: You listened to what is written in the book,

26 “Go back to King Josiah of Judah, who sent you to ask what the LORD wants. Tell him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says about the words you heard being read:

26 “And to the sovereign of Yehuḏah, who sent you to inquire of יהוה, say this to him, ‘Thus said יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, whose words you have heard,

26 But to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of ADONAI, thus you will say to him, “Thus says ADONAI the God of Israel, ‘Regarding the words which you have heard,

26 [26-27] “Josiah, listen to what I am going to do. I noticed how sad you were when you heard that this country and its people would be completely wiped out. You even tore your clothes in sorrow, and I heard you cry.
