18 Then she went on to say: "There is a saying from long ago, [2] 'Let them ask if they will in Abel or in Dan whether loyalty is finished

18 She said, "Long ago they used to say, 'Go and get your answer in the city of Abel'---and that's just what they did.

18 Then the woman said, “In the past people would say, ‘Ask for help in Abel and you will get what you need.’

18 Then she spoke, saying, “In former times they often spoke, saying, ‘Let them inquire of Aḇĕl,’ and so they ended the matter.

18 Then she spoke up saying, “They used to say in old time, ‘They shall surely seek counsel at Abel and that’s how they settled any dispute.

18 She said, “Long ago people used to say, ‘If you want good advice, go to the town of Abel to get it.’ The answers they got here were all that was needed to settle any problem.

18 Then she spake, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter .
