Deuteronomy 32

27 were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge amiss, lest they should say, Our hand is exalted, and LORD has not done all this.

27 But I dreaded the sound of your enemies saying, ‘We defeated Israel with no help from the LORD.’”

27 except I dread the taunt of the enemy, lest their foes might misconstrue — lest they say, ‘Our hand is held high, and ADONAI has not done all this.’
