Jude 1

3 Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I was compelled to write to you [urgently] appealing that you[3] fight strenuously for [the defense of] the faith which was once for all[4] handed down to the saints [the faith that is the sum of Christian belief that was given verbally to believers].

3 Beloved, my whole concern was to write to you in regard to our common salvation. [But] I found it necessary and was impelled to write you and urgently appeal to and exhort [you] to contend for the faith which was once for all [1]handed down to the saints [the faith which is that sum of Christian belief which was delivered [2]verbally to the holy people of God].

3 My dear brothers, I wanted very much to write to you and tell you how we all are saved. But then I saw that I must write and tell you to hold very strongly to what you do believe. Fight against those who want to change it. The right way to believe has been given to Gods people once for all times.

3 My friends, I was already looking forward to writing to you about the salvation that we share. But now I need to write urgently to you and encourage you to vigorously defend the truth about God,[1] given once and for all time[2] to God's holy people.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that you2f should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

3 [4]Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the [5]common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, to exhort you, that ye should earnestly [6]contend for the maintenance of the faith, which was [7]once given unto the Saints.
