Jonah 1

7 Then the crew cast lots to see which of them had offended the gods and caused the terrible storm. When they did this, the lots identified Jonah as the culprit.

Jonah 1

7 Finally, the sailors got together and said, “Let’s ask our gods to show us [2] who caused all this trouble.” It turned out to be Jonah.

7 Then each man said to his companion, “Come, let’s cast lots — so we may know because of whom this evil is happening to us.” So they cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah. [2]

7 And they said to each other, “Come, and let us cast lots, so that we know for whose sake this evil has come upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Yonah.

7 Then the men said to each other, “We should throw lots to find out why this is happening to us.” So the men threw lots. The lots showed that the troubles came to them because of Jonah.

7 The sailors said to each other, "Let's draw lots and find out who is to blame for getting us into this danger." They did so, and Jonah's name was drawn.

7 Then they said to one another, "Come, let us cast lots to discover on whose account this evil has come to us." So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah. [AL]

7 And they say each unto his neighbour, ‘Come, and we cast lots, and we know on whose account this evil [is] on us.’ And they cast lots, and the lot falleth on Jonah.

7 And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
