Amos 1

5 I will break the barred gate of Damascus; From the Valley of Aven [6] I will cut off the one enthroned, And the sceptered ruler from Beth-eden; the people of Aram shall be exiled to Kir, [AD] says the Lord.

Amos 1

5 I will smash the city gates of Damascus and remove the inhabitants of Aven Valley and the ruler of Betheden. The people of Syria will be taken away as prisoners to the land of Kir."

5 “I will also break open the gates of Damascus[5] and remove the one who sits on the throne in the Valley of Aven.[6] I will remove the symbol of power from Beth Eden,[7] and the Arameans will be defeated and taken back to Kir.[8]” This is what the LORD said.

5 I will break the Damascus gate-bar and cut off the inhabitant from the Valley of Aven, wielding Beth-eden’s scepter. So the people of Aram will go into exile to Kir. ADONAI has said it.
