Haggai 1

2 Thus says the Lord of hosts: This people has said: "Now is not the time to rebuild the house of the Lord."

2 The LORD Almighty said to Haggai, "These people say that this is not the right time to rebuild the Temple."

2 This is what the LORD All-Powerful said, “The people say it is not yet the right time to build the LORD’S Temple.”

2 “Thus spoke יהוה of hosts, saying, ‘This people have said, “The time has not come, the time the House of יהוה is to be built.” ’ ”

2 “Thus says ADONAI-Tzva’ot: ‘This people say the time has not come — the time for the House of ADONAI to be rebuilt.’”

2 [2-5] that the LORD All-Powerful had said to them and to the people: You say this isn’t the right time to build a temple for me. But is it right for you to live in expensive houses, [3] while my temple is a pile of ruins? Just look at what’s happening.
