Lamentations 1

3 Judah has gone into exile, after oppression and harsh labor; She dwells among the nations, yet finds no rest: [AB] All her pursuers overtake her in the narrow straits.

3 Judah's people are helpless slaves, forced away from home. They live in other lands, with no place to call their own--- Surrounded by enemies, with no way to escape.

3 Judah suffered very much, and then she was taken into captivity. She lives among other nations but has found no rest. The people who chased her caught her where there was no way out.[2]
