Jude 1:7 Wilbur Pickering’s New Testament WPNT 2015 | 100 Bible versions Compare

Jude 1

7 So also Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns—who gave themselves up to fornication and went after a different kind of flesh Recall that they wanted to rape the angels. Whatever kind of ‘flesh’ an angel has when he materializes, it is not human. in a manner similar to those angels—stand as an example, undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. Just as ‘eternal life’ refers primarily to a quality of life, I take it that ‘eternal fire’ here refers to a quality of fire—at the destruction of Sodom God used ‘brimstone and fire’ (Genesis 19:24), and the eternal Lake contains ‘fire and brimstone’ (Revelation 20:10).
