Paul [1]an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the ⓐSaints, which are at Ephesus, and to the [2]faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
ⓑ[3]Blessed be God, [4]and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, [5]which hath blessed us, with [6]all spiritual blessing in [7]heavenly things in [8]Christ,
[9]As he hath chosen us in [10]him, before the foundation of the world, [11]that we [12]should [13]be holy, and without blame [14]before him in love:
[15]Who hath predestinated us, to be adopted through Jesus Christ [16]in himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.
[17]To the [18]praise of the glory of his grace, [19]wherewith he hath made us freely accepted in his beloved.
Redemption through the Son
[20]By whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins, according to his rich grace:
Whereby he hath been abundant toward us in [21]all wisdom and understanding,[22][23]
And hath opened unto us the [24]mystery of his will [25]according to his good pleasure, which he hath purposed in him,
[26]That in the dispensation of the fullness of the times, he might [27]gather together in one all things, both which are in heaven, and which are in earth, even in Christ:
[28]In whom also we are chosen when we were predestinated according to the purpose of him, which worketh [29]all things after the counsel of his own will,
That we, which [30]first trusted in Christ, should be unto the praise of his glory:
Sealed with the Holy Spirit
[31]In whom also ye have trusted, after that ye heard the [32]word of truth, even the Gospel of your salvation, wherein also after that ye believed, ye were [33]sealed with the holy [34]Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance, for the [35]redemption of that liberty purchased unto the praise of his glory.
Prayer for the Spirit of Revelation
[36]Therefore also after that I heard of the faith, which ye have in the Lord Jesus, and love toward all the Saints,
I cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
[37]That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, that Father of [38]glory, might give unto you the Spirit of wisdom, and revelation through the [39]knowledge of him,
That the eyes of your understanding may be lightened, that ye may know what the [40]hope is of his calling, and what the riches of his glorious inheritance is in the Saints,
[41]And what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us, which believe, ⓒaccording to the working of his mighty power,
[42]Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his [43]right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and domination, and every [44]Name, that is named, not in this world only, but also in that that is to come,
[45]And hath made all things subject under his feet, and hath given him over all things to be the [46]head to the Church,
Which is his body, even the [47]fullness of him that filleth all in all things.
