1 ובשׁנת year אחת Now in the first לכורשׁ of Cyrus מלך king פרס of Persia, לכלות might be fulfilled, דבר that the word יהוה of the LORD מפי by the mouth ירמיה of Jeremiah העיר stirred up יהוה the LORD את רוח the spirit כרשׁ of Cyrus מלך king פרס of Persia, ויעבר that he made a proclamation קול that he made a proclamation בכל throughout all מלכותו his kingdom, וגם and also במכתב in writing, לאמר׃ saying,
2 כה Thus אמר saith כרשׁ Cyrus מלך king פרס of Persia, כל me all ממלכות the kingdoms הארץ of the earth; נתן hath given לי יהוה The LORD אלהי God השׁמים of heaven והוא and he פקד hath charged עלי hath charged לבנות me to build לו בית him a house בירושׁלם at Jerusalem, אשׁר which ביהודה׃ in Judah.
3 מי Who בכם מכל among you of all עמו his people? יהי be אלהיו his God עמו with ויעל him, and let him go up לירושׁלם to Jerusalem, אשׁר which ביהודה in Judah, ויבן and build את בית the house יהוה of the LORD אלהי God ישׂראל of Israel, הוא (he האלהים the God,) אשׁר which בירושׁלם׃ in Jerusalem.
4 וכל And whosoever הנשׁאר remaineth מכל in any המקמות place אשׁר where הוא he גר sojourneth, שׁם ינשׂאוהו help אנשׁי let the men מקמו of his place בכסף him with silver, ובזהב and with gold, וברכושׁ and with goods, ובבהמה and with beasts, עם beside הנדבה the freewill offering לבית for the house האלהים of God אשׁר that בירושׁלם׃ in Jerusalem.
Gifts of Israel and Cyrus to Rebuild the House of the Lord
5 ויקומו Then rose up ראשׁי the chief האבות of the fathers ליהודה of Judah ובנימן and Benjamin, והכהנים and the priests, והלוים and the Levites, לכל with all העיר had raised, האלהים God את רוחו whose spirit לעלות to go up לבנות to build את בית the house יהוה of the LORD אשׁר which בירושׁלם׃ in Jerusalem.
6 וכל And all סביבתיהם they that about חזקו them strengthened בידיהם their hands בכלי with vessels כסף of silver, בזהב with gold, ברכושׁ with goods, ובבהמה and with beasts, ובמגדנות and with precious things, לבד beside all על כלתנדב׃ was willingly offered.
7 והמלך the king כורשׁ Also Cyrus הוציא brought forth את כלי the vessels בית of the house יהוה אשׁר which הוציא had brought forth נבוכדנצר Nebuchadnezzar מירושׁלם ויתנם and had put בבית them in the house אלהיו׃ of his gods;
8 ויוציאם bring forth כורשׁ Even those did Cyrus מלך king פרס of Persia על by יד the hand מתרדת of Mithredath הגזבר the treasurer, ויספרם and numbered לשׁשׁבצר them unto Sheshbazzar, הנשׂיא the prince ליהודה׃ of Judah.
9 ואלה And this מספרם the number אגרטלי chargers זהב of gold, שׁלשׁים of them: thirty אגרטלי chargers כסף of silver, אלף a thousand מחלפים knives, תשׁעה nine ועשׂרים׃ and twenty
10 כפורי basins זהב of gold, שׁלשׁים Thirty כפורי basins כסף silver משׁנים of a second ארבע four מאות hundred ועשׂרה and ten, כלים vessels אחרים other אלף׃ a thousand.
11 כל All כלים the vessels לזהב of gold ולכסף and of silver חמשׁת five אלפים thousand וארבע and four מאות hundred. הכל All העלה bring up שׁשׁבצר did Sheshbazzar עם with העלות that were brought up הגולה the captivity מבבל לירושׁלם׃ unto Jerusalem.
