3 כי For, הנה behold, יהוה the LORD יצא cometh forth ממקומו out of his place, וירד and will come down, ודרך and tread על upon במותי the high places ארץ׃ of the earth.
4 ונמסו shall be molten ההרים And the mountains תחתיו under והעמקים him, and the valleys יתבקעו shall be cleft, כדונג as wax מפני before האשׁ the fire, כמים as the waters מגרים poured down במורד׃ a steep place.
5 בפשׁע For the transgression יעקב of Jacob כל all זאת this, ובחטאות and for the sins בית of the house ישׂראל of Israel. מי What פשׁע the transgression יעקב of Jacob? הלוא not שׁמרון Samaria? ומי and what במות the high places יהודה of Judah? הלוא not ירושׁלם׃ Jerusalem?
6 ושׂמתי Therefore I will make שׁמרון Samaria לעי as a heap השׂדה of the field, למטעי as plantings כרם of a vineyard: והגרתי and I will pour down לגי thereof into the valley, אבניה the stones ויסדיה the foundations אגלה׃ and I will discover
7 וכל And all פסיליה the graven images יכתו thereof shall be beaten to pieces, וכל and all אתנניה the hires ישׂרפו thereof shall be burned באשׁ with the fire, וכל and all עצביה the idols אשׂים thereof will I lay שׁממה desolate: כי for מאתנן of the hire זונה of a harlot, קבצה she gathered ועד to אתנן the hire זונה of a harlot. ישׁובו׃ and they shall return
8 על זאתספדה I will wail ואילילה and howl, אילכה I will go שׁילל stripped וערום and naked: אעשׂה I will make מספד a wailing כתנים ואבל and mourning כבנות as the owls. יענה׃ as the owls.
9 כי For אנושׁה incurable; מכותיה her wound כי for באה it is come עד unto יהודה Judah; נגע he is come עד unto שׁער the gate עמי of my people, עד to ירושׁלם׃ Jerusalem.
10 בגת at Gath, אל ye not תגידו Declare בכו weep ye not at all: אל תבכובית לעפרה of Aphrah עפר in the dust. התפלשׁתי׃ roll thyself
11 עברי Pass ye away, לכם יושׁבת thou inhabitant שׁפיר of Saphir, עריה naked: בשׁת having thy shame לא came not forth יצאה came not forth יושׁבת the inhabitant צאנן of Zaanan מספד בית האצל of Beth-ezel; יקח he shall receive מכם of עמדתו׃ you his standing.
12 כי For חלה waited carefully לטוב for good: יושׁבת the inhabitant מרות of Maroth כי but ירד came down רע evil מאת יהוהשׁער unto the gate ירושׁלם׃ of Jerusalem.
13 רתם bind המרכבה the chariot לרכשׁ to the swift beast: יושׁבת O thou inhabitant לכישׁ of Lachish, ראשׁית the beginning חטאת of the sin היא she לבת to the daughter ציון of Zion: כי for בך נמצאו were found פשׁעי the transgressions ישׂראל׃ of Israel
14 לכן Therefore תתני shalt thou give שׁלוחים presents על to מורשׁת גת Moresheth-gath: בתי the houses אכזיב of Achzib לאכזב a lie למלכי to the kings ישׂראל׃ of Israel.
15 עד Yet הירשׁ an heir אבי will I bring לך יושׁבת unto thee, O inhabitant מרשׁה of Mareshah: עד unto עדלם Adullam יבוא he shall come כבוד the glory ישׂראל׃ of Israel.
16 קרחי Make thee bald, וגזי and poll על thee for בני children; תענוגיך thy delicate הרחבי enlarge קרחתך thy baldness כנשׁר as the eagle; כי for גלו they are gone into captivity ממך׃ from
