Thanksgiving for Their Growth

1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the congregation of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 May grace be yours and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 We must always give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is really growing, and the love of each one of you is increasing for one another.

4 That is why we ourselves boast about you in the congregations of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 2Th 1:5 which is clear indication for God's righteous judgment, so that you may be considered worthy of the Kingdom of God, for which you suffer,

Encouragement in Their Persecution

6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay tribulation to those who trouble you.

7 And to you, who are troubled, rest with us in the coming of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels,

8 taking vengeance with flaming fire on those who do not know God and those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 These will be punished with everlasting punishment from the Lord's presence and from the glory of his power

10 as soon as he comes to be glorified by his holy people and to be admired by all those who believe, on that day, because our testimony was believed among you.

Prayer for God's Blessing

11 Therefore, we always pray for you also, so that our God would consider you worthy of the calling. May he fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith with power.

12 In this way the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified by you and you by him according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
